Glasvegas are heading west to start work on the follow up to their self-titled 2009 debut. "We do one last show in Poland and then we go straight to Los Angeles and we're gonna record the next album there," Glasvegas guitarist Rab Allan tells Spinner. "That'll be released early next year."

The trip means little time off for the Glasgow group that has been working non-stop for over a year, but Rab said they don't mind, especially considering frontman James Allan, his cousin, has been so prolific of late. "That was our choice. James has been writing a lot," he says. "It's great and we just wanted to try to get the next thing out as [quickly] as possible."

The group didn't get a chance to try out any of their new material when they opened for Kings of Leon across the US last month, but that was in part, because the new songs aren't totally completed. James and Rab are expected to polish of the demos in a house "with a swimming pool" they plan to rent somewhere in Los Angeles.

"We'll probably just have a long party that'll last for a couple of months," Rab says laughing when thinking of their upcoming recording stint. "Me and James will come out and finish off the demos and then the rest of the band will come out in November."

Rich Costey, who co-helmed the band's debut disc with James, will take on co-producing duties again with the singer. The group will record in an East L.A. studio, but they might try out another famous recording locale if it suits them. "I think Rick Rubin said we could do the drums in his house," Rab says, referring to Rubin's famed abode, which Harry Houdini once owned.

And while they'll be working hard on the next disc, the Allan boys plan to indulge in a little family time further into their stay. "I think we'll probably spend Christmastime there as well," Rab says. "My mom and James' mom are going to come over. We invited them over. We'll send them to Vegas for a few days. They've never been to America."

Well, that's one way to see the country for the first time.
