Dead Weather's Second Album Planned for Early 2010

Good news for Dead Weather fans -- Jack White's latest band will follow up their fall tour with a new album, which is likely due in the first half of 2010.

White took to the chatroom of his fan club, the Vault, to let subscribers know that Dead Weather lead singer Alison Mosshart was "writing music on a really cool guitar" and announced plans to have the disc ready less than a year after the band's debut, 'Horehound.'

Days prior, Mosshart told BBC News that the group was studio-bound to record newly written material before the end of the year. Speaking about the songs -- titled 'Jawbreaker,' 'No Horse' and 'I Can't Hear You,' Mosshart said, "They sound great. I really like them. We've been playing three or four of them onstage, so they keep changing all the time."

"I think I'll spend most of December in America and finish the second record. So there will be more," she said.

As for the band's prolific songwriting approach, Mosshart said she loves working with White and bandmates Jack Lawrence and Dean Fertita. "I love it. I don't think we could do this if the four of us in a room didn't move so fast because the four of us have other stuff going on," she added. "It's all really spur of the moment."
