Beth Ditto's Autograph Request Denied by Bill Clinton

Beth Ditto, Bill ClintonLong before she began making headlines of her own, Beth Ditto had a little brush with fame as a kid growing up in Arkansas. The Gossip frontwoman had an odd and unexpected run-in with Bill Clinton, back when the former president was still just governor of that state. Ditto explains that she was in the backseat of her family's pick-up truck, headed to a fish fry. "My hair is blowing out, all matted and nasty, there's food all over my face, my dad throws a cigarette out the window and it knocks me right in the head because I'm sticking my head out like that, of course," Ditto tells Spinner. "So I have this huge burn mark on my face and my hair looks like it hasn't been brushed in my life."

Around that time, the Dittos pulled up to the fish fry. Shortly thereafter, a limousine drove up and Clinton steps out. Caught up in the frenzy of everyone around her clamoring for his autograph, little miss Ditto presented the future President of the United States a dollar bill that her grandpa had just given her and asked him to sign it.

According to Ditto, Governor Clinton looked down, patted her on the head and said, "I think that's illegal, darlin'."

Beth Ditto Talks About Coming Out

This tale is one of many that Ditto plans to include in an autobiography she's currently hard at work on. Don't expect her to finish immediately, though, as the Gossip have just launched their tour in support of their major label debut, 'Music for Men.' When approached by fans, Ditto will gladly sign the CD, her book (once it comes out) and probably just about any other object you could present to her. We doubt she's as worried as the former president when it comes to autographs and legal technicalities.

Amazing how many misspelled words there are in the comments. Do you not know about the spell checker on your computer? Do you not know that there are dictionaries online? Do you not realize that even if you have an intelligent comment to share, you'll still look like an idiot when you haven't taken the time to properly write your commentary? Do you realize that opinions are exactly like fingerprints, everyone has them."

Amen! That's why I commented on Nicoleat's use of the word, (according to her), "INTERGITY"...It seems to me that anyone with INTEGRITY, that felt compelled to comment on an issue like this, would learn how to spell her words correctly. It's called "spell-check" for a reason. Well I must leave now...I'm reading all about the 'NUCUELAR' warheads that Iran is supposedly going to have soon...lol

Defacing a dollar is a violation of Title 18, Section 333 of the USA code. But becoming a President of the USA without proof of eligibility is not. What do you think of that?

It is defacing if you will use the money. But if you have it signed and you will keep it as a souvineer I don't think it will matter. You will not be cerculating it anyway. In this case you are not defacing it. It will not be a public property but your private property.

I think you are all hilarious! A Hollywood script writer couldn't give me as many laughs as you (all) have!

I only wish President Bill was back, getting polished in the Oval Office, while we all enjoyed Peace, booming prosperity and NO DEAD PEOPLE.

Yep, that's why I let "Where's George" write all over my currency. I just have to track the bills as they pop up! Thanks WG for taking up where Clinton left off!

If I could vote Bill Clinton back into office tomorrow, I would, the lives of the vast majority of the American people were far better when he was in office than under Bush or Obama

It is not illegal to write on U. S. currency. Nor is it illegal to deface it or coinage. The illegal part comes into the picture when you try to spend it.
