Everybody's favorite hoodrat friend Craig Finn intends to bring Chuck Klosterman's memoir 'Fargo Rock City' to the big screen. The Hold Steady frontman has reportedly signed on with 'Late Show With David Letterman' writer Tom Ruprecht to adapt the former Spin scribe's 2001 memoir, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

"Seventeen or 18 is the perfect age for characters in a movie like this, because it's at that age that you have driver's licenses and a certain amount of independence, but you're still young enough that you can totally make terrible decisions," Finn tells the entertainment industry publication. "And you're still young enough that you can have a two-hour argument over whether Motley Crue would beat Guns 'N Roses in a fight."

Klosterman will join Finn and Reprecht in producing the film, touted as a "coming-of-age comedy." Klosterman's book chronicles his adolescent years in North Dakota as a heavy metal loner who used music to "transcend high school nerddom." Set in the 1980s, the screenplay will center around a group of graduating seniors trying to make it with the ladies and break free of their geek status.

Fans of the book will be happy to know that portions of the book, including the chapter in which a faulty ATM dispenses excessive amounts of money to Klosterman, will be included. Finn and Ruprecht tell the Reporter that specific story is a metaphor of the gilded age and easy credit of both the 1980s and the past few years.
