Disco Biscuits, 'You and I' -- Video Premiere

Disco BiscuitsFor their new album, 'Planet Anthem,' the Disco Biscuits are going for something slightly different than the sweaty, marathon throw-downs that they're famous for live. Sure, the concerts are packed with kids who follow the Biscuits from show to show, but their albums were never as fully appreciated as their nightly spectacles. The band spent three years working to change that, via a focused effort in which the songs would be treated as songs instead of jams. Likewise, this time around they're treating the videos as videos.

"All of our past videos have been DIY," bassist Marc Brownstein admits to Spinner. "But we knew we had to do something special for 'You and I.'" So when the Biscuits flew to Japan this past summer to headline the Fuji Rock festival, they brought along Ghost Town Media (Death Cab for Cutie, Kanye West) to make the video.

"We love the twisted storyline and the main character," says Brownstein. "Can you say 'Ramen noodles?'"

I have spent thousands of dollars on attending disco biscuit shows. If i see this video or hear this recorded version of this song one more time I am seriously going to request a refund and/or kill myself. This video is one of the most upsetting things I have ever had to listen to

KINKY!!! but the lyrics lack detail in the song. I know that this album is suppose to be way different from the rest but even though the music is catchy and the beats intense.... it reminds me to much of a pop song gone electronic, like a bad remix.......but the video was sexy, kinky and wild by imagination, kinda how the biscuits shows are. I hope the rest of the CD is more packed full of detail, dirty, electronic, intense, melodic, sound! SHOW me an album worth listening to every song, that makes me listen to it for weeks, and then then do it all over again! See you guys on thanksgiving! peace

Biscuits are gonna ROCK Chi-Town on Halloween! Concerning the new material, I usually find it hard to accept new music from the bands I enjoy. Phish's new stuff is alright but over time everything grow's on you. I can't wait for the new CD!

The Biscuits are blowing up somewhat...but my question is, what are the new fans that this album brings going to think when they arrive at the show and get a sound that we all know and love, but they're completely unfamiliar with?

Me thinks they'll be thinking along the lines of complete, utter confusion and deception...a feeling many DB fans have also come to know and love! LOL

Kudos to tDB for showing the balls to try and appeal to more than 2% of the population...even if I don't really want more of it. We all know they're not gonna change their live style, so what's it matter?

I like this. I usually don't like anything post-2000. I hated the song when I first heard it. The video put everything into perspective finally.

    Good job, band.
