After a whirlwind 48 hours that included an onstage collapse, a hospital visit and subsequent discharge, Morrissey is taking tonight off from performing on the advice of his doctors. Moz has canceled Monday night's scheduled show at the UK's Bournemouth Academy, and both that gig and his Saturday night concert at Swindon Oasis are currently being rescheduled. While details are still scant, doctors originally said that respiratory problems sent the ex-Smiths frontman to the hospital. This latest postponement follows a recent spate of canceled shows, including the first four dates of his US tour in support of 'Year of Refusal' this past February. Morrissey's representatives say that Tuesday night's gig at London's Royal Albert Hall -- a rescheduled date from a cancellation this past May -- will go on as planned.
Morrissey is currently on tour in support of his second release this year, a B-Side collection entitled 'Swords,' which is out now in the UK and set for a Nov. 3 release in the US. He's scheduled to return to the States on Nov. 30 for a short West Coast tour starting at Seattle's Paramount Theater.
