No sooner have U2 finished the 2009 dates of their 360° tour of the US, than they've announced a fresh batch of shows for 2010 in the US and Canada. The tour will visit Anaheim, Calif.; Denver, Oakland, Calif.; Seattle; Edmonton, Alberta; East Lansing, Mich.; Miami; Philadelphia and Montreal in June and July.
The band's site added, "U2 360° will also return for one night only in Toronto and Chicago before finishing the North American leg in New York at the New Meadowlands Stadium."
On Sunday, the band played their last US show of the year at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles. As previously reported on Spinner, the gig was streamed live over YouTube, the first time a full concert has been streamed in real time on the video-sharing site.
The group finish their touring commitments for 2009 with a show in Vancouver on Wednesday (Oct. 28).
Apart from the North American dates, the band already announced a string of European shows for next year, which will see the band playing Russia and Turkey for the first time, along with concerts in Denmark, Germany, Spain, France, Austria and Portugal.

Good to hear that Mr Go Green is going to bring his massive tour and enormous carbon footprint here to collect more of our money. Thanks Bono...you're a special guy!
Bretat 10-26-2009
So I guess all touring entertainment should stop because of this idiotic carbon footprint crap? Just go live in a cave eat dirt douchebag.
scottat 10-26-2009
No Bret. I don't believe in the carbon footprint crap either, but I do think Bono is a a useless pile for claiming to believe in it, but has the biggest tour known to man. If you didn't pick up on that, my bad, but please try to be a little quicker on the uptake. douchbag

Scott,
You are a giant tool bag.
scottat 10-26-2009
Patrick,
I doubt that. Just because you like Bono doesn't mean that I am wrong about him. Is that how you guys argue...just calling names? I guess if you don't have any real content to add in a debate, just go for insults. You wouldn't be a liberal, would ya?

U2 announced before the tour started that they're purchasing carbon offsets to make up for the footprint the Tour is making. This and the huge setup costs are big reasons why the tour so far isn't turning a profit. If you'd done your research on the subject before hatin' on Bono, you'd know, instead of blasting a Lead Singer for the actions of his whole band and organization because he's an easy target.

The carbon credits idea is the dumbest way to con people out of their money yet...unreal that people believe in it.
And - you are all douchebags except Scott - if he did mean it tongue and cheek that is...because, while we should be good stewards of the resources we have, one of those resources is limited number of days and dates that U2 can tour. Those should be maximized!

Scott & Bret, you shouldn't be wasting your time hurling insults at each other! We all know what a hypocrite Bono really is! His "Do as I Say, Not as I Do Mentality" reminds everybody that really know what the Issues are what he's all about, "MONEY"! Bono, Obama and all of their "Enviro-Nazis" love this kind of infighting amongst ourselves!
Allisonat 10-26-2009
oh and here I thought the surprise announcement was they were going to tour for less than 200.00 per ticket. Guess poverty stricken people can't see U2
Michaelat 10-26-2009
I just saw U2 in Vegas...our tickets were $33. I think the most expensive ticket was $75 here

The exrended tour means more good music and less ghetto rap which is good for America!
William Gallagherat 10-27-2009
You failed to mention the mega dollars your ghetto community will generate at local resturants and hotels, gas stations etc. as myself and other music lovers take over the campus.Stay home.
MrDoughnutat 10-26-2009
Extending the tour will be appreciated by millions of U2 fans all over the USA.

From My understanding he is Mr. Debit Reduction for 3rd world countries. Not Mr.go green. I guess you got the question wrong on the exam !!!! Please do some research. Mr. "I really don't know what is happening in the world.."
scottat 10-26-2009
what? Debit Reduction? Bono is helping people reduce their debit? And I am the one who "doesn't know what's going on in the world" funny
MrDoughnutat 10-26-2009
Finally concerts without ghetto gangstas ripping off cars in the parking lots!
King of Stone Mountainat 10-26-2009
Freakin Radical, Dude! (it'll be cars running into other cars, instead...from countless DUI's)

Some people are so serious about finding fault with U2, or Bono, specifically. There are FAR MORE DESTRUCTIVE PEOPLE than Bono, far more hypocritical people than Bono, and far more mean-spirited people than Bono living in this world. It's just that he, and U2, are higher up on the totem pole than a lot of people, and those people who are lower always have to bitch more, trying to be heard. When we start putting some truly intelligent people in positions of real power (ie. politicians), then we would have more leisure time to devote to criticizing a guy like Bono...

Lets all jump up and down and scream like immature
drunken college brat frat conditioned loosers...
dont forget the sandals and amstel light....
Lets cry about carbon footprints others leave when we
start hitchin horses again....yes, they leave a little more methane than your sorry commentaries.
Let BoZo go back to Dublin and apolagize for the beratting public disclaimer about Irish nationalism when they switched record labels.
They can voluntarily hang from a Joshua Tree to many Irish and BoZo has stated in the past he is uncomfortable playing in his own home town...

I saw U2 October 6th in Atlanta and enjoyed the show. I have followed U2 since they came to the States on the War Tour. Always enjoyed the shows and took the dose of political medicine that Bono administered in stride, as Bono has always had a message behind the lyrics BUT I was REALLY disappointed at the finale of this tour. Instead of leaving the stadium pumped I was READY for it to be over. Finales should be exciting, but playing all lame slow songs like "One Love" and hoping everybody will hold hands and send money to your "cause" is simply not entertaining. I still love the music and the band but I couldn't help feeling a little let down by the over-emphasized political ending. Muse put on a GREAT opening show, by the way. Cheers!
