Following his brother Noel's solo post-Oasis plans, lead singer Liam Gallagher has spoken of his desire to form a new band. Speaking to the Scotsman newspaper the frontman said: "I'm always going to miss Oasis. It was my f------ thing, you know what I mean? It's who I am. But it's only a name. I'm still who I am and I can go and do something else. I've got music in me. I'll never leave it behind but we'll see where it goes. It might be s--- but you don't know until you try."
He went on: "Getting away from the whole Oasis thing is going to be a good thing I suppose. I don't want to do anything solo. I want to be in a band. But we can do things a lot differently these days. It'll definitely be rock 'n' roll."
The singer is currently taking a break after the Oasis split and has his eye on the new year for launching the as-yet-unnamed project. "For now I'll be relaxing at home, just getting out of music for a bit and then I'm going to start up something maybe after January, do something different, see where it goes."
Where it could go of course, if he gets the timing right, is a full-blown chart battle with his older sibling. Don't expect much brotherly love in 2010.
