Bruce Springsteen will perform as scheduled Thursday night at past of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary concerts. Springsteen's set at the first of two gigs at New York's Madison Square Garden was up in the air following the unexpected death of his cousin and E Street Band assistant road manager Lenny Sullivan.Fans feared that Bruce would cancel Thursday's appearance after he scrapped his Monday concert in Kansas City just two hours before stage time so that he and the members of the E Street Band could mourn the loss of Sullivan. Organizers confirmed yesterday that Springsteen will in fact play alongside Sam Moore, Stevie Wonder, Simon and Garfunkel, and Crosby, Stills and Nash and friends.
The concerts have already had one major star pull out, as Eric Clapton announced that he would miss Friday's show to have gallstones removed. His replacement, the Jeff Beck Band, was announced Tuesday.
