Ziggy Stardust vs. Adam Lambert: Clash of the Cover Art

'Idol' star Adam Lambert declared that "Glam is back" on Twitter, and his newly released 'For Your Entertainment' album cover certainly supports his claim. Compared side-by-side, it's hard to deny that Lambert's admittedly "campy" photo is a nod to the original glam icon, Ziggy Stardust.

I think it would be better to say it's a nod to Madonna - view the cover of her album side by side and it looks a look more similar.

It has nothing to do with David Bowies album cover.

Why in the world should Adam "nod" to anyone? His cover is an original, just as he
    is.

Dear Adam fans who are posting that he's "original" and wouldn't "nod" to anything... Really? Have you actually read what your Idol said?

Contemporary art is about meaning. Art cannot live in autonomy. Self sufficiency is a delusion. Without context there is no meaning. Artists narrate their contingency in their attempts to transcend self conciousness and awareness and sometimes transcend this process in their acknowledgement of it. Adam does both. Look at everything he did on AI. He gave contemporary meaning to old songs with multivalent references to preceeding artists. The art of his alblum cover, like every aspect of his performances is part of his artistic statement and there is no accidental similarity.

I don't care which way Adam nods, just as long as he keeps singing.

Well....needless to say.......Adam picked the right picture for the front of his new CD because EVERYONE is talking about it. Some like it.....some don't. I don't think you need to try and read anything to deep into it. Adam is a wonderful businessman as well as an unbelievable singer/entertainer. He wanted a "campy" photo and that is exactly what he's chosen. He is show business to his core.......he likes to have people discuss his work.......and this just proves he knows what he is doing!

Although i can see where the "glam" comes from, there doesnt seem to be many similarities with the Aladdin Sane cover (it's not ziggy stardust) still great though.

Daily Dose of Style is back in full swing and ready to tackle on new fashion dilemmas, season standouts and much more! Today, let's take on a personal issue of mine. The problem: I'm in a wardrobe rut and have been for the past several weeks. You ever have those periods of time where you hate everything in your closet, or absolutely bored of it? Ugh! And since I'm still recovering from my holiday spending (ahem, over-spending), I can't just splurge on new clothes to solve my apparel angst. The solution: Layering! Playing with layers can produce outfits for you that feel totally new. I have to admit I haven't mastered this form of art yet. I need to schedule some playtime in my closet in fact. Look below. This is what I'm taking about. Topping your old dress with a cardigan, vest and scarf updates a once-drab dress... and makes the outfit all the more interesting! How do you layer? Tell me below! Stay tuned by the way for voguetouch Shopping's Guide to Layering coming in February!
