Peter Gabriel has launched a covers album with a difference -- a project which sees the likes of Radiohead, Neil Young, Bon Iver, Arcade Fire and David Bowie trading instrumental version of each other's songs. The covers record is called 'Scratch My Back' and is expected to be released in Spring of 2010.
The line-up of artists involved also includes Randy Newman, Elbow, Talking Heads and Paul Simon.
Gabriel's collaborator John Metcalfe told BBC 6 Music, "The songs are not simply covers," Gabriel collaborator John Metcalfe told BBC 6 Music. "They are major reinterpretations of some famous stuff. It's quite radical."
