Drummer Chuck Biscuits Falls Victim to Elaborate Death Hoax
- Posted on Oct 30th 2009 11:30AM by John D. Luerssen
Famed punk drummer Chuck Biscuits isn't dead after all. Instead, the man born Charles Montgomery -- who has played with the likes of D.O.A., Black Flag, the Circle Jerks, Danzig and Social Distortion -- was the victim of a death hoax involving an elaborate correspondence from someone claiming to be Biscuits.According to music blogger James Greene, Jr., this punk rock version of the Balloon Boy mess started when an imposter using an e-mail address that was previously believed to have been used by the drummer sent out an e-mail Tuesday, Oct. 27, claiming that Biscuits, 44, died last Saturday after a prolonged battle with throat cancer. The death story was picked up by a number of music outlets, Spinner included, after an e-mail supposedly sent by a member of the Montgomery family falsely reported that "Chuck did not survive his battle with throat cancer. He passed surrounded by his family on 10/24/09."
Vancouver 's The Straight managed to get in touch with the drummer's former D.O.A. bandmate Joey Keithley, who reported that Biscuits is alive. Meanwhile, Circle Jerks vocalist Keith Morris also disputed reports of Chuck's death to BrooklynVegan.
Since the original story broke, former Danzig bassist Eerie Von and Chuck's own brother Bob Montgomery questioned the reports of Chuck's passing. Biscuits was seen at work on Thursday and was supposedly "pissed off" about the erroneous news of his demise. Biscuits has yet to make a public statement, but we're all very glad to learn that he's alive and well.

We in America are so gullible. We believe everything on the Internet without question. It will eventually be our downfall. Perhaps a story from a Russian unnamed source that Putin is going to launch and we'd better launch first OR Microsoft is giving away $200 OR whatever. Wake Up your dumb ass fools before you walk over the cliff. Don't believe a damn thing on the Internet until you confirm it from many multiple sources outside of the Internet. Use you freaking God given brains!

I hear that the Pentagon considers AOL and Spinner two very credible sources, especially considering Russia and other foreign affairs. And can you imagine what would happen if the nation fell for the old "Microsoft is giving away $200" scam? Armageddon!
Thank you so much for your wisdom, Mr. Schurman. Not only have you saved your readers' lives, you may have saved the nation.
glad you're not dead chuck although a rock god like you would propably have resurected anyway!!
