"I was a drug addict and it came to a head when I was 45. That was a long time. I kinda like being a bad girl." --Belinda Carlisle
The Go-Go's singer, who currently resides in France, admits she's wary of moving back to Los Angeles, where her addiction troubles began. "It's a very hard city in many ways," she says. "It can really play with your head."

An addict is an addict until death - thus her statement of, "I WAS an addict" means she died; glad she is not dead but she is still an addict!

a "Recovering Addict" is the correct term....

We do recover fully. Take the steps, don't listen to People who tell you, you won't fully recover. Only a few will get it, the rest will tell you you'll be recovering forever and that is not true. take steps 1-9 in order to help another that is the key, 10-12 daily maintenance. Don't listen to the bums that have never finished anything in their life and take the steps now and recover from your selfish illness so that you can save other's so they can see your change and do the same! Drugs have little to do with the illness, it's you thinking, thats your real problem. And there is a way out TAKE THE FIRST 9 STEPS & you too will know Peace..

Being an addict is not who you are... it's what you're doing. You can always change what you're doing. I hear the jargon that comes from AA... AA was meant to be a life raft, not a house boat. AA could use some updates to their program as technology and 100% healing and curing is now possible through the following therapies. They are all quick and free methods (or modalities) Choose EFT, FASTER EFT, BSFF, or PSTECH... all of which are accessible free and you can use them by yourself today. Don't buy into anything being permanent, that is a myth of the path. Heal today.

In about 2 1/2 years I used drugs, gotten into trouble because of it, went to rehab, and I can honestly say I am not an addict. Never went back to it, never will and I will not let anyone stick their dumb labels on me. drug Addicts are people who use drugs not those who have quit using drugs. quit means quit.

And in other news, sky remains blue and water is still wet. Who in the world would be surprised at this news? She always looked about as sh*tfaced as you could get and still remain standing upright in her old videos.

Sounds good to me. I was wondering when you were going to get tired of them. Would you like me to make sure they contract the disease, and what kind of cancer were you thinking of?

Being an addict follows you whereever you go. Deciding to be clean has to be a commitment for life not based upon what city you live in. Stay in France Belinda. Bad girls finish last.

That explains a lot. A few years ago, I had tickets to see the Go-Go's in concert at a building down in Long Beach, CA. I drove down from my place in Hermosa Beach. When I got there, I was almost first in line. Some time later, a lot of older "Go-Go's era people (like myself) were in line. We waited...and waited...AND WAITED. Finally, we saw Belinda roar out of there-by herself-in her personal car! NOW everyone started demanding to be told what was going on! Finally, an answer: Belinda got into a raving arguement with her manager and her band, and bailed out on us!!! Naturally, we were furious, and demanded our money back...After about a week, my refund was mailed back to me....Fortunately, I had one drink at age 8 in 1969...I never drank again-never smoked anything or done any drugs-a decision I've never regretted...It just makes my life less complicated and drama-free...

There are recovering addicts and there are recovered addicts. The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous promises full recovery. My husband had 17 years sobriety when he died at age 47 of brain cancer. He had no trouble being around alcohol or serving it at our home for social functions, though he chose not to be around drunks. He could have drank when he was diagnosed (I offered him the chance). He could have taken more pain pills and tranquilizees then you would believe because they were always available to him. They were prescribed for up to 4 a day and he took them about 2 or 4 times a week when he had a pain. I read to him from the AA Big Book on his death bed. I am not sure when the transition from recovering to recovered occured (probably around year 10 for him), but he died a sober recovered man when he had every reason in the world to drink and be high on all kinds of stuff for the 1 1/2 years he was sick. Of course the real miracle here is that both God and Bill Wilson (one of AA's founders) have posted on the internet. If my husband starts posting from the dead, I'm going to have a drink!

Linda - You're a wonderful human being and your husband was very fortunate to have you in his life. You did an honorable thing by offering him a drink while he was suffering with brain cancer. Not many people would be so courageous and I commend you.

"Excuse me, Mr. President."
"Yes Rahm, what is it?"
"Sir, Mr. Soros wishs to see you in his office at 7:30 a.m., sharp, tomorrow morning."
"Uhh, ...Thank you, Rahm, ..."
