Bon Jovi fans are a wealthy bunch, it would appear. Well, at least some of them.

The New Jersey rock band recently announced a residency at London's O2 Arena for next summer, one which no doubt pleased their faithful mightily. But now some fans are in a stew over the cost of the best seats for a night with Jon Bon Jovi and crew.

The cost to you, sir (or madam), for a place in the pit? A mere £1,299.97 ($2,127).

Normal tickets to the band's gigs will set you back a not-out-of-the-ordinary £45 ($73), though this rises the closer you get to the band. But what do you get for stamping out such heavy coin for the Circleside seats? VIP parking, for starters (it wouldn't do to take public transport with the mere mortals) a backstage tour, dinner and a video viewing and sundry other BJ goodies.

One fan wrote on their official website: "I am going to stand up for what I believe in and use my earnings to feed my kids rather than lining some fat cat's pockets."

Another wrote: "Writing an album about the world problems with recession, then doing what they've done could lose a lot of respect. The prices are just a mockery."

Despite some fans venting their anger, tickets were selling fast, with five of the shows for June 2010 sold out by the end of the weekend.

The Bon Jovi tickets aren't those with the biggest price-tag, however. ContactMusic reported corporate tickets for the ill-fated Michael Jackson residency were on sale for as much as £7,900.
