The Dead Weather made it a Halloween to remember for lucky fans when they played a free and intimate east London gig on Saturday (Oct. 31).Jack White, Alison Mosshart and company donned ghoulish outfits -- Mosshart made-up as a witch and White with a pagan mask -- at the gig at Shoreditch Church.
The church had been the site of a "pop-up" Version of White's Third Man store which has accompanied Dead Weather shows in major American cities. It was the first time it had been unveiled outside the US.
The gig followed sold-out shows at London's O2 Academy Brixton and the HMV Forum.
Some fans had been queuing for the show since 3pm, many of them in fancy dress.
"I'll give a record you can only get from me to the person who's covered in blood the most," White had said in an interview with NME last week -- which he then qualified with "fake blood."
The band played their current set, which includes the tracks 'Jawbreaker' and 'I Can't Hear You," which are thought to be from their forthcoming second album.
White made good on his promise and presented two bloodied fans with ultra-rare three-inch singles before the band played their last song 'Treat Me Like Your Mother.'
