Spiral Stairs, 'Cold Change' -- Video Premiere
- Posted on Nov 2nd 2009 12:10PM by Ashley Iasimone
After being a founding member of Pavement and formerly fronting Preston School of Industry, Scott Kannberg is returning under the pseudonym Spiral Stairs with his first solo album, 'The Real Feel.' Just released on Oct. 20, the record is now accompanied with a brand-new video for its first single, 'Cold Change.'The album is a long time coming, with Kannberg having shaped it from his life since 2004's 'Monsoon,' his last release with Preston School. Kannberg worked on 'The Real Feel' in Seattle and Australia after splitting with his wife, and credits its emotional material to that experience. Meanwhile, the singer was finding inspiration from Richard Thompson's 'Shoot Out the Lights,' mid-period Fleetwood Mac and Bob Dylan records, which added to the vibe of the new songs he was writing.
'Cold Change,' directed by Jess Carfield and filmed by Chris Heinrich, was shot in Los Angeles and features a day in the life of a main character called Benmont, who was previously seen in Preston School of Industry's 'Caught in the Rain' video. Check out the premiere below.
