Bruce Springsteen to Perform Full Albums at Madison Square Garden

Bruce Springsteen and Steven Van ZandtBruce Springsteen and the E Street BandFans headed to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's gigs this weekend at New York City's Madison Square Garden are in for a rare treat. Springsteen has announced special programs for the shows, which will see the first time he has performed full album sequences 'The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle' and 'The River'.

On Saturday, Nov. 7, Bruce will play 1973's 'The Wild' front to back followed by the 1980 double album 'The River' on Sunday. As for the latter, guitarist Steven Van Zandt told Rolling Stone earlier this year to respond to rumors that the group would perform complete albums on this year's tour. "If I could pick, it's gotta be 'The River,'" Little Steven said at the time. "I'd want to include the outtakes on the 'Tracks' collection. Then you have a hell of a show."

During the past month, the band has been playing one of three classic Springsteen albums -- 'Born to Run', 'Darkness on the Edge of Town', or 'Born in the U.S.A.' -- in full at his shows. The lone remaining date without an announced album is the trek's finale in Buffalo on Nov. 22, leaving Bruce disciples to wonder if they might break out 'Greetings From Asbury Park' to close out 2009's historic trek.

Bruce goes deep into his catalog.
The triumvirate of BTR, Darkness and The River is a hard Trifecta to beat by any other artist, dead or alive.
