Yeah Yeah Yeahs Playing NYC Show for Motorola Droid Release

It may have only a few weeks since Yeah Yeah Yeahs graced a New York stage, but Karen O and the gang are back to play the Big Apple again. This time, however, they will be performing as part of a cell phone launch party.

As BrooklynVegan reports, the band is set to a play a special show to celebrate the new Motorola Droid phone, which will be available exclusively through Verizon Wireless on Friday, Nov. 6. Through the power of Twitter, Verizon Wireless has been tweeting about the event, encouraging followers to retweet announcements, enter contests and test out the phone via Verizon's street team in order to score a pair of tickets. People can also score tickets by buying a Droid on Friday.

Aside from it being in Manhattan's Lower East side, there are no exact details on where or what time the gig will be. However, following the Verizon Wireless New York Street Team's Twitter feed will give you up-to-the-minute information on the performance.
