Bloc Party Frontman 'Working on Solo Album'

Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke is to record a solo album while the band take a break, it has been revealed.

Producer Hudson Mohawke told BBC Radio 1Xtra he may be working on the release. Bloc Party recently finished a tour of the UK and announced they were taking a lengthy break.

"It hasn't been finalised yet, but I'm doing a bit of stuff for Kele from Bloc Party's solo album," Mohawke said. "He's doing a record with one of the guys from Spank Rock."

Bloc Party recently finished their Bloctober tour of the UK, with drummer Matt Tong announcing he was considering a change of scene and that he might not necessarily return to Bloc Party.

The band released their third album 'Intimacy' last year and have been touring solidly since the middle of 2008.
