The Dandy Warhols will take a unique approach to the holidays this year, when the Portland, Ore.-based band, best known for 2000's 'Bohemian Like You,' performs three special gigs. It seems that Courtney Taylor-Taylor and company want to combat the "dreary environs" of the Northwest by playing a series of Italian-themed performances."We are on a mission to convince Christendom that Italy does it best," the group announced on its website. "We like to take a different approach to Christmas: a little more Old World and a lot more jaunty."
The Dandy's Italian Style gets underway at Neumos in Seattle on Dec. 11 and slides down to Portland, for a pair of hometown gigs at the Wonder Ballroom on the 12th and 13th.
In related news, Taylor-Taylor released his first-ever graphic novel, titled 'One Model Nation,' via Image Comics last week. He collaborated with Donavan Leitch on the project and recently described it by saying, "[I've] never really been a comic book guy, but what I've liked has always been of the graphic novel variety. So if that's your bag, maybe give this one at shot." You can check it out here.
