Dandy Warhols Announce Italian-Themed Christmas Shows

The Dandy Warhols will take a unique approach to the holidays this year, when the Portland, Ore.-based band, best known for 2000's 'Bohemian Like You,' performs three special gigs. It seems that Courtney Taylor-Taylor and company want to combat the "dreary environs" of the Northwest by playing a series of Italian-themed performances.

"We are on a mission to convince Christendom that Italy does it best," the group announced on its website. "We like to take a different approach to Christmas: a little more Old World and a lot more jaunty."

The Dandy's Italian Style gets underway at Neumos in Seattle on Dec. 11 and slides down to Portland, for a pair of hometown gigs at the Wonder Ballroom on the 12th and 13th.

In related news, Taylor-Taylor released his first-ever graphic novel, titled 'One Model Nation,' via Image Comics last week. He collaborated with Donavan Leitch on the project and recently described it by saying, "[I've] never really been a comic book guy, but what I've liked has always been of the graphic novel variety.
