If she never heard a Jay-Z song, then why does she mention it in her song Party in the USA (which by the way, I hate), she's just an annoying little girl trying to be something she's not. There was this one interview in which she said her music wsn't pop, it was punk rock. Come on, she is NOT punk rock.

Its possible that she's heard those songs and didn't know the artist...I hear lots of music on the radio over and over and have no idea who the artist is.

Very true! I know who Jay-Z is, although I don't listen to his music. I also know he's quite popular with people who like his style of music. Now if I wanted to write a song that might appeal to an even broader spectrum of listeners, I might think it was a good idea to mention his name in my song. Apparently the author of this potent quotables blurb didn't take the possibility of creativity into consideration.
