When it comes to her career, Amanda Palmer does things her own way. Whether it's battling her record label or frank lyrical narratives, the Dresden Dolls singer seemingly never cedes control -- except to her fans.

In a new clip for Current Music's 'Embedded' series -- a six-part series that gives an intimate look into the lives of artists, onstage and off -- Palmer is seen packing a venue for one of her Twitter-announced secret shows for which she let fans choose both her outfit and the evening's set list. The video, which also includes an in-depth look at the studio of Thievery Corporation, features Palmer performing 'Dear Old House That I Grew Up On' on ukulele, and 'Astronaut' on piano.
