While some music videos look like short films, Manchester Orchestra decided to pay homage to one instead. Frontman Andy Hull channeled his inner athlete by playing a competitive arm wrestler like Sylvester Stallone in 1987's 'Over the Top' in the band's video for 'Shake It Out.' Directed by Isaac Rentz, the video follows Hull (with his long-lost African-American son) who goes from town to town challenging everyone to a match. While the video centers around arm wrestling, Hull admits that he himself doesn't work his biceps as much as the video shows. "I couldn't lift my hand past my waist after doing that video," Hull told Spinner. "I was definitely arm wrestling those guys. They were just letting me win. That was pretty funny. My arm so, so bad. So no, I do not enjoy it."
Manchester Orchestra is currently on tour, but the band plans to work on their new record in 2010. Check out the video for 'Shake It Out' after the jump.

OMG I love the new video. Shake It Out is such a good song to get your adrenaline pumping. It’s really awesome live too—great for potential crowd surfing! I found this live stripped performance online they did in NYC. Here’s the link if you’re interested! http://www.iheartradio.com/cc-common/ondemand/stripped.html?apid=6244&cmp=a_manchesterorchestra
