Dolly Parton"I still believe in Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and true love." --Dolly Parton

Don't let her age fool you -- the 63-year-old country legend is still a kid at heart. She warns skeptics, "Don't even try to tell me different."

Really guys? Way to make a "potent quote" out of something absolutely sarcastic.

That is not sarcasm. That is a quote from a loving person who believes in the important things in life. Not how much you own. I also still believe in all those things. They are symbols of purity and innocence.

I totally agree with you Laura! Her comment wasn't made sarcatically, it was made with her heart, not her mind! Dolly is loving, sentimental, idealistic and pure of heart. The world needs more people who still believe in magic, miracles and the power of love and positivity! We could all learn a lot if we listened to our children more closely :)

Now come on Pam, so she believes in Santa, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, cant be to hard on her. Dolly is wonderful, here I am at 51 and I believe in the same things as Dolly does and even more. I believe in Aliens, Ghosts, Goblins, Fairies, and Pixies as well. Oh also the Dwarfs, and little Leprechauns. I am a Mystical minded person, with a truly open mind. Thank goodness for Dolly, and thank you for posting, take care
    and blessed be.

"Believe in Santa Claus, the Easter bunny, etc." Is there anything wrong with the Guest of Honor, Himself?

Roy, I certainly agree with you on this one but it is also kind of fun to believe in the others to. God did't mean for us not to have fun with things to. Jesus/God is certainly the most important. I'm sure even Dolly believes in that much.

Christmas could NEVER come again, as far as i am concerned. I HATE putting up a Christmas tree and having to move some piece of furniture/favorite object for the thing. The malls are a pain in the a**, and everyone is always begging for money. Sorry not an endless supply of cash here. Then ya have to deal with all the relatives that your forced to look at once a year ( thank gawd for plenty of wine). As far as i am concerned they should cancel Christmas and have Halloween twice a year. Halloween is FUN. No expectations for the day, just fun.

I don't like to clean up so lately I haven't been decorating for Christmas. Two Halloweens sound great! If you're an adult then you don't *have* to do anything.

Wow!! Compared to you Scrooge & the Grinch seem like Santa. Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. If you think Christmas should be cancelled, then you are saying that we shouldn't celebrate the day our lord & savior Jesus Christ was born. My gosh, get a grip, its once a year & if you don't want to participate in it, then don't, but do your family a favor & don't spoil it for them. I have never believed in Santa, but I have always had the true spirit of Christmas in my heart. Also, most of the people "begging" for $ are trying to collect for those less fortunate than themselves or who may be overseas & aren't able to be with their families at Christmas. Get heart!!!

You are so right about Christmas. Too much expectation and pressure. To much commercialism. Thanksgiving is the right holiday. The word holiday comes from "Holy Day" and Christmas has lost it's holiness. In reality, Jesus was actually born around what is considered his resurrection time - April. It would only make sense that God Almighty would keep the time of his son on earth even. There were no trees like we have. There were no light, just stars, and there was definitely no snow. Jesus would actually look more like Osama Bin Ladin rather than James Dean due to his parentage and place of birth. There were presents to share and there sure as hell was no Santa Claus. With all that said, it is still okay to celebrate the birth of the Savior and add a little literary liberty to have fun for the kids, as long as the TRUTH has been explained and is recognized.

Try smiling and see how that makes you feel, you would be amazed at the power of a smile, and Merry Christmas to all
