After hitting the headlines recently thanks to allegedly scoring two surprise Grammy Award nominations, little known Lancashire band Shakey's Brother are now set to work with Sting, the Sun newspaper has reported. The as-yet-unsigned five-piece -- who are now apparently the subject of a major label bidding war -- shot to fame after they sent a demo tape to US indie promoters Big Noise. The demo was then forwarded to Grammy judges who apparently selected the band for inclusion in the awards shortlists for both the Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group.
Now a source is quoted by the Sun saying Sting is set to work with the band. "Sting was chatting about the band on (UK chat show) 'The Alan Titchmarsh Show' and then a turn of events saw him agree to work with them," the source said. "The boys are over the moon. They never expected this to happen."
Despite their new-found tabloid fame the band is yet to make much of an impact with the public. At the time of writing their song 'Tell Me Everything' -- which is rumoured to have been chosen as their debut single -- had received only 1,411 plays on their MySpace page..
