Former Oasis vocalist Liam Gallagher says he plans to carry on with the rest of the band -- save for his guitarist brother Noel -- in a new capacity. He also revealed his plan to return to playing live gigs "in a couple of months.""I always miss singing songs. I miss the people," Liam said in an interview with Italian station Radio Deejay Friday morning while promoting his new Pretty Green clothing line. The younger Gallagher also says that he will move forward with his remaining bandmates, guitarist/bassist Andy Bell, guitarist Gem Archer and drummer Chris Sharrock.
"We're sort of doing things at the moment. Not Oasis. Oasis is done. Everyone except for Noel," the frontman said, revealing that the yet-to-be-named band is writing new material.
When asked what caused Oasis to split back in September, Liam said, "To be quite honest, I think our kid [Noel] wanted out. But you'll have to ask him when he comes in and does his little solo thing. We had an argument -- but we've had bigger ones, about more important people. Basically, I think he wanted out, wanted something different, but he hadn't got the bollocks to tell the band or the fans."
So what about the guitar that he reportedly used to hit his older brother in the head? "I didn't smash it [the guitar] on him, I wish I had, man," the singer said.
"He sort of ... treated my guitar poorly, which was a present off my wife," Liam added. "So I thought it was only fair to pay the compliment [back] so I smashed one of his ... It sounds ridiculous, like a pair of old women."
He also says he regrets smashing Noel's guitar, because it belonged to the band. "That guitar of mine was mine," Liam continued. "The guitar that I smashed of Noel's was Oasis' guitar. Part of the thing that I pay for. So I shouldn't have smashed it really!"
