Busily touring Brooklyn band Grizzly Bear were traveling from Munich to Milan Friday when their bus and trailer crashed. Luckily, there were no injuries.Lead singer Edward Droste broke the news on his Twitter account and linked to the band's website, which reports that the accident was severe enough to require new transportation.
The band and crew had been driving overnight following the Munich show. "[T[he bus and trailer were hit and rendered immovable," the announcement reads. "The trailer was wrecked and the bus engine split. Everyone involved is fine and spent a day in Austria pulling things together."
Unfortunately, the new bus and trailer didn't arrive in time for the Saturday night show, where the band were set to play a sold-out gig at the Conservatorio as Wilco's special guests.
However, the rest of the tour "continues as scheduled," the band says, vowing, "Italy, we will make it up to you." Their next date is Sunday night in Fribourg, Switzerland.
The mishap rivals another unfortunate European tour experience for the band. In 2006, they were robbed in Brussels of literally everything but the clothes on their backs, which forced them to cut the tour short and return to the States.
Grizzly Bear's current European tour, with support from St. Vincent, lasts through November. In December, the boys head to Australia for several shows and festival appearances. The band also recently announced a string of U.K. dates in March.

Yeah, my husband listens to shortwave radio and heard that the passengers were all smoking pot and using other drugs. Our youth today have ne respect for their bodies buy using these drugs. Our president has set a bad example by admitting he used pot before he left Africa to live in Hawaii.

Wow, Alice. I bet you don't remember Mr. Bush saying he snorted cocaine up his nose, right? Of course not. And why would you because you're like all the rest...choose a side and overlook their faults. Because that's what you were trained to do. Here's some advice..take off the rose colored glasses, and see the world how it really is. Everyone makes mistakes. No one is perfect, not even you (Yes, I'm sorry, but true.) and personally I'd rather get in a car with someone who had been smoking pot versus someone who has been drinking. A pot head is more likely to drive slow and lean forward while driving uphill, while a drunk would be swerving in to on-coming traffic. Thanks.

@ Alice, I don't know how old you are exactly...but if you were at all alive during the 60's and 70's, you must have been locked inside your house because the youth of that era (the current parents of today's youth) were just as bad to their bodies by using drugs as anyone today. Drug use is no different than it was before... people (not just kids) are more aware of the effects of drugs then ever....Every generation has its own group of users...your generation (at whatever age you are) was just as bad as mine is (I'm 21)....
You like many other people that make comments like that are severely uninformed and convinced that your opinions are the only ones.....I personally have never tried drugs or even wanted to, but that fact aside, I'm not going to say that someone who does do drugs, is bad, or a drain on society...or however you would like to categorize them....if you believe that they are so terrible, don't forget to put them in the same category as those who consume alcohol, or smoke...(I'm more that confident you fall into one of those categories)...Those people have even less respect for their bodies, because those two vices are socially acceptable, and legal, and can be even more detrimental to the body than certain drugs....So next time you crack open a cold one, or light your cigarette remember your hurting your body like the "youth today have ne respect for their bodies buy using these drugs." (also "buy" should be "by")
