Grizzly Bear Cancel Milan Show After Bus Crash

Busily touring Brooklyn band Grizzly Bear were traveling from Munich to Milan Friday when their bus and trailer crashed. Luckily, there were no injuries.

Lead singer Edward Droste broke the news on his Twitter account and linked to the band's website, which reports that the accident was severe enough to require new transportation.

The band and crew had been driving overnight following the Munich show. "[T[he bus and trailer were hit and rendered immovable," the announcement reads. "The trailer was wrecked and the bus engine split. Everyone involved is fine and spent a day in Austria pulling things together."

Unfortunately, the new bus and trailer didn't arrive in time for the Saturday night show, where the band were set to play a sold-out gig at the Conservatorio as Wilco's special guests.

However, the rest of the tour "continues as scheduled," the band says, vowing, "Italy, we will make it up to you." Their next date is Sunday night in Fribourg, Switzerland.

The mishap rivals another unfortunate European tour experience for the band. In 2006, they were robbed in Brussels of literally everything but the clothes on their backs, which forced them to cut the tour short and return to the States.

Grizzly Bear's current European tour, with support from St. Vincent, lasts through November. In December, the boys head to Australia for several shows and festival appearances. The band also recently announced a string of U.K. dates in March.
