Buckcherry Singer Is Fans' Favorite to Replace Steven Tyler
- Posted on Nov 17th 2009 5:10AM by Spinner
The ongoing Aerosmith singer saga continues this week after Rolling Stone ran a fans' poll over the weekend. The magazine asked readers who they would like to see front the band. The result? Buckcherry singer Josh Todd was in first place. The poll was prompted by reports that singer Steven Tyler wishes to take a two-year hiatus from the band. Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has stated that he plans to carry on with the band with or without Tyler.
It's some honour for Todd given that other notable names in the top ten include some genuine rock 'n' roll legends. The New York Dolls' David Johansen came in at two, Iggy Pop at five, the Sex Pistols' Johnny Rotten at eight and Jane's Addiction's Perry Farrell at ten.
Somewhat bizarrely ex-American Idol star Adam Lambert reached a respectable fourth place, with man mountain Meatloaf at six. Sounds like we have quite the competition on our hands.

Being an Aerosmith fan means the whole band. No one can replace any of them. Aerosmith is not Aerosmith without Steven Tyler, or Joe,Tom,Joey,or Brad. I think Steven is the absolute greatest rock n roll singer, songwriter, musician. He amazes me with his talent, and when at a concert, he takes me to a place getting lost in the songs to where I want to be. I choose to be supportive and focus on him being well in his body and mind, even if it would mean his never returning to the band.

Steven wants to explore other areas...I can feel that. Steven is a legend no doubt and I wouldn't like to see the group perform without him, but I also wouldn't like to be sitting idol for 2 years. They are not getting any younger and if that's how Tyler wants to end it than that's how it's going to end. To sad :-(

December 06 2009 at 4:21 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI am a huge Buckcherry fan. I personally would like to see Joe Perry play with Buckcherry. Not Josh with Aerosmith. Josh is more than capable of fronting Aerosmith, I've seen Aerosmith for a long time and I've been a fan of Josh since his days in OC. Josh got the goods.

November 22 2009 at 5:45 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI've been saying this all day: Aerosmith isn't Aerosmith w/o Steven Tyler. Even though I absolutely love JT and Buckcherry (Stevie D., Xavier Muriel, Keith Nelson, Jimmy Ashhurst) JT is meant to stay with his band. After all, why throw all of that hard work and touring down the drain?
O and you all should go see BC on tour with Kiss' "Alive 35" Tour. I saw Buckcherry in FEB of this year and it is a show you CANNOT miss!!!

November 18 2009 at 8:13 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyA female lead singer replacement would spice up the rock band.
