Les Savy Fav Play New Track on 'Yo Gabba Gabba'

    Art-punk pranksters Les Savy Fav have premiered their first new material since 2008's digital-only live album 'After the Balls Drop' on kids' TV show 'Yo Gabba Gabba.'

    A one-minute, 15-second celebration of the joy of having new footwear, the song 'Shoes' provides the soundtrack to a short animation on the hyperactive Nickelodeon show. You can watch it after the jump.

    Featuring the lyrics, "Shiny and clean, they're my favourite colour green, my new pair of shoes," the song is something of a giddy treat for fans awaiting new material from the band.

    Les Savy Fav are the latest in a long line of unlikely indie stars to feature on Yo Gabba Gabba including Weezer, Of Montreal, the Shins and MGMT. Lead singer Tim Harrington said via his Twitter account that on reflection the song "might be too consumerist."
