Ex-Oasis singer Liam Gallagher has stated his intention to release a new album in July 2010. In an interview for MTV Italy Liam said that he has been demoing new songs with the rest of the most recent Oasis line-up, minus brother Noel.He went on to reveal, with characteristic bravado, that the songs he is working on, alongside Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock, are so good he is a "million per cent confident that they could be better than Oasis."
Speaking of the sessions Liam said: "We've been demoing some songs that we've had on the quiet. We're not making a big fuss about it. After Christmas we might go in the studio and record them and hopefully have an album out in July, or something."
Never missing an opportunity to bang on about his revivalist clothing label Pretty Green, the singer said he hopes to open shops in London, Italy and eventually across the globe. "If it all goes well," he said, "maybe, hopefully we can get a shop in London, and if it goes really well maybe a shop in Italy. You know? We wanna be all over the world."
Liam also professed his love for his estranged brother Noel saying that he would miss being in Oasis. "I love him [Noel] to bits but we just don't get on," he explained. "Me and our kid have never been that close anyway. Alright, we were in the band but we kept ourselves to each other, he'd do his thing and I'd do my thing, I've got my friends, he's got his friends. We'd only sort of hang out when we were on tour. We didn't have a solid relationship, but we both thought Oasis was great."
