Rock 'n' roll and spirited libations have always gone hand in hand. A new enterprise, Wines That Rock, wants to take things to a new level by creating quality wines named after legendary rock albums. Even better, the company -- created by business and fan club managers of bands like the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Sting and U2 -- will place original album art on the wine labels. The first three products will be Rolling Stones 'Forty Licks Merlot,' 'Woodstock Chardonnay' and Pink Floyd's 'The Dark Side of the Moon Cabernet Sauvignon.' These wines, which will retail for around $17 a pop, were previewed backstage at the VIP & Artists lounges during the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concerts in New York last month.
"Traditionally you create the wine and then name it based on its personality. With these wines, we blasted the music in the cellar of the winery and developed a bottle of wine that captured the attitude of the music," Ron Roy, co-founder of Wines That Rock, said in a release.
Wines That Rock is a partnership between rock business managers RZO and the award-winning Mendocino Wine Co., a green company that embraces sustainable farming, 100 percent solar and wind power, eco friendly packaging and carbon neutrality.
The wines are currently available at the Wines That Rock website and will be in stores in 2010.

They couldn't think of anything original. So they're doing some gimmic. Probably overpriced and under performing. Pretty typical for these kind of wines.
