The Arctic Monkeys arena tour rolled into Manchester's MEN Arena on Saturday (Nov. 21) night for a show which featured a little bit of Rod Stewart from singer Alex Turner. The band has been back in the UK since Nov. 13 for their biggest UK tour to date and Turner chose Manchester as the place to treat fans in to an impromptu chorus of Rod Stewart's 'Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?' during 'Crying Lightning.'
Other surprises during the tour have included a rendition of new b-side 'Sketchead' at Wembley on Nov. 17 and a nightly airing of 'Mardy Bum'.
Despite some reports in the UK press suggesting that audiences had given a muted response to material from the band's 'Humbug' album, the shows Spinner has witnessed were rapturously received from start to finish, with some seriously enthusiastic slam dancing in evidence.
The tour continues at Nottingham Trent FM Arena tonight (Nov. 23), before dates at Glasgow SECC (Nov. 24), Belfast The Odyssey (Nov. 25) and Dublin The O2 (Nov. 26).
