Sir Paul McCartney to Make 'X Factor' Appearance?

Though the more cruel and twisted TV viewer may be lamenting the departure from 'The X-Factor' of the double car crash that is Jedward -- that'll be John and Edward to their mum -- news is emerging that former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney is said to be in negotiations to perform on the hugely popular talent show.

According to reports in the Daily Mirror, Sir Paul is said to be making a live appearance for a Beatles-themed show on Dec. 13.

An X Factor 'insider' told the tabloid: "The big plan by Simon Cowell is to get Sir Paul for the final, which would be just fantastic.

"Everybody knows The Beatles wrote some of the best songs in history, so it would be a sensational end for the series."

If true then Sir Paul's turn would certainly put a smile of X-Factor supremo Cowell's face. The svengali was reportedly stung by comments made by erstwhile Police frontman Sting who last week branded the show as being little more than a "karaoke contest."

Don't anybody get all worked up by whatever Sting said. He's an excellent musician and he himself has written some great songs. He's just an opinionated guy. And in one way he's right. But it's well know that Paul was always more open than other Beatles to the business of music. He considers himself an entertainer not a mystic or prophet like some guys in Rock used to think about themselves.
I think that Simon tells the truth. He calls it like he sees it. At least he saw the truth about Susan Boyle. That voice may've been hidden forever from public hearing if not for him. The look on his face when she started singing tells it all

PAUL, IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE, A VERY TALENTED INDIVIDUAL.
AS HE HAS GONE THROUGH LIFE, HE HAS IMPROVED IMMENSELY. AND WHILE I APPRECIATE, THE COMMENTS MADE OF JOHN, (SADLY TO SAY, I NEVER GOT TO MEET JOHN, THOUGH I DID SIT IN HIS OFFICE ONE DAY, AND HE TOLD HIS SECRETARY, HE WOULD MEET ME, ANOTHER DAY.) JOHN AND PAUL, WERE LIKE ANY CREATIVE MINDS WORKING SO CLOSELY. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE ARGUEMENTS, BUT THESE BONDS, LAST FOR ETERNITIES.

anytime pm is seen it's a treat. i am a die hard beatles type, favored lennon. but for the guy who says lennon ws the real talent. without each other they both would have fared much less in life/history. this combination was the catylist formula which made them legendary.

    Gimme a break . . .
John Lennon was tremendously talented. He wrote lots of beautiful songs with mystical lyrics. As did George Harrison. Ringo, not a songwriter, but he gave the "beat" to The Beatles music with his fantastic drumming. Paul was (is) the ultimate musician. He can and did do it all. He just loves the music business, and has given us all a lifetime of beautiful music.
I'm so glad to see his name in the news. I'm so sick of all this Michael Jackson crap! There's more talent in Paul McCartney's toilet than Wack-o Jack-o ever had.

"shooshmylove" you are either 8 years old...an idiot...or just someone who has no judgement of talent! Paul is an absolute musical genious and carried the group. Lennon, with all due respect...was just weird. That's his most memorable trait. McCartney plays 22 musical instruments (also rated one of the top 10 bassists in the world. Wrote such songs as Yesterday, Hey Jude, The long and winding road...and on and on. He can sing any type of music. The man was the Beatles!

Now you know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall

I miss John and the music he would have made by now.

You know what I love about people? We are all different and see different things in other people, this is topped off by the fact we have the ability to communicate this to others. The thing I hate about people is that a large number do not have the ability to see this and will spout on about how right they are in their opinions and everybody else in so wrong!! to the point they have to abuse the other person.

I once heard a man say this about john and paul...
THE BEATLES MUST HAVE SIGNED A PACK WITH THE DEVIL TO COME UP WITH ALL THOSE GREAT SONGS....AMAZING!
John and paul were always trying to out-do each other when it came to writing songs/and we were the beneficiares............

Susan Boyle is great. On a recent commercial for a DVD, I thought it was Streisand they were playing. You wonder how much great talent is out there, that will never be discovered.

What happened. McCartney get bored from doing nothing in the music field lately? He doesn't need the money unless his most recent marriage cost him more than the media has disclosed. What's next. Vacuumn sweeper or super glue or hair treatment ads on TV?

What's wrong? Did you get up today?

Paul is SOOO talented!!! Why in the world WOULD he retire??? He still has SOOO much to give! And does he ever give!!! He is also the kindest most gracious person anyone could ever hope to meet!!! He and Linda truly made the perfect couple.
I love Lennon still but life goes on and he, of all people, would want it to.
