    Little Richard Undergoes Hip Surgery

Little RichardEven those living legends who still rock are in need of a body tune-up every once in awhile. Little Richard, now 76, is recovering at a Vanderbilt University hospital after undergoing hip surgery. In a post to his official Myspace page, a spokesperson has said that although the surgery was successful, the veteran rocker is still in a lot of pain. "Please be praying for a quick and full recovery. He may have a long road ahead of him (i.e. physiotherapy) because he waited so long to have the surgery."

Little Richard, a long-time born-again Christian, is asking his fans to continue praying for him as he recovers. According to the Associated Press, he plans to resume touring activities in 2010, once his recovery is in full. "He is thankful to the LORD for the blessing of longevity and greatly appreciates the kindness and caring of all of the faithful warriors who have been uplifting him in prayer," the Myspace statement continued.

Little Richard has long been credited as one of the founders of what we now know as modern rock 'n' roll, when in the mid '50s, he explored a combination of blues, gospel and faster rhythms in songs such as 'Tutti Frutti' and 'Good Golly, Miss Molly.' Numerous influential musicians such as Bob Dylan, Otis Redding and Elvis Presley all attribute Little Richard as a primary influence in their defining work.

My prayer for you is that our Lord God will heal all and any wounds that you may have and that you will soon be up and about without any pain. I plead the Blood of Jesus upon you from the top of your head to the sole of your feet. God Bless. (In Jesus Name).

AMEN.... Oh Yes Little Richard will be back to his self with no pain and I pray he can walk again without the canes he's had the last few times I seen him. I love this man he is just sooooo AWESOME. First time I went to see him was in Illinois at the Ravina, I think it's called, with my husband Mike who has met Little Richard a few times before I was with him and he remembered Mike, We were in the 3rd row front and LR recognized Mike and started talking to him about Pat Boone doing one of his songs back in the day, And then he caught me trying to tape him on my camcorder it was so funny, he told me to put my camera away cause his brother was going to give us all a picture of him, (and he did as we were all leaving)with a small book about Jesus. My face was on fire, Mike said I was red as a beet lol. This was to funny he pointed at me and said ( You with that guy sitting there ) I said yes I am, he goes u can do better come on up here with me, and I wish I had, (I was too shy) but right after that he started singing and pointing and was asking for people to come on stage, he wanted a little skinny white girl, a big fat black woman, then a skinny black woman, a big fat white man. and so on till the stage was full of people. And then he had this little hispanic girl jump up on the piano and shake her butt off. I had one of the best times of my life. and then I've seen him 2 more times since the last time was a few yrs ago in Las Vegas on Chubby Checkers 80th BD, with him and Jerry Lee Lewis. what a show, I have been very Blessed to have seen these guys plus since my first time seeing Lil Richard I have met so many Great Artist and are friends with many of them now.Like Dale Hawkins, Glen Glenn,Billy Lee Riley (who passed not long ago)Awesome Man, What an Honor it was to meet him.And sit with him and his wife, I felt like I knew them my whole life and Dickie Harrel,(Bebop) drummer for Gene Vincents and Blue Caps(they did the song BeBop A Lula)also Johnny Meeks who played guitar for the Blue Caps, Both are great friends of ours,I could go on with names of all the great Artist I've met through the Rockabilly Hall of Fame,Which Belongs to Bob Timmers,Bob ask Little Richard to perform at the Rockabilly Green Bay Fest a few yrs back and he did. Also met Bill Haley's Comets, Sonny Burgess,Slim Jim. oh I could on, and I have pictures with all of them and some great memories. we are all praying for you Little Richard, We have a yahoo group just for you. I know there will be tons of Prayers there for you from all of us. We Love you Little Richard, GOD Bless you. and hoping for your speedy recovery.
Your Friends and Fans for LIFE.

My hip replacement was botched by an imcompetent surgeon. Had it redone and it works fine. Yes, it's painful, but it's worth the end result. Do the rehab and you'll be rockin' again soon, Sir.

I'm 65 and I got the old Titanium Hip Treatment this past January. Like Little Richard I also waited way too long before I had my surgery. I was in so much pain that I had to use two canes just to walk! P.S. In less than two months I put my cane (only one after the operation) away and have never looked back. I'm doing everything now that I was doing as a 30 year old.... maybe a 40 year old, including long walks every day, riding my bicycle very often, every other day, and swimming at least once a day every day. Thankfully I live in S. Florida. I had a great surgeon, and after my next appointment, in January for my one year check-up, I'll only have to see him once a year for the next five years. One word of advice: Do everything your doctor tells you to do, including all the exercises and physical therapy. I did, and that's how you'll have the best results. G-d has nothing to do with it.... now it's only up to you!

God has nothing to do with it!? Well that's a ignorant thing to say...Blasphemy!! And you can't even spell his name without leaving a letter out. Shame on you! God is our creator, you had better thank the almighty God for giving you life. A nation without God is a nation gone under, just look around at how society is giving in to the Devil, the morals of this country are far then what they were even back in Brother Richard's heyday. And you know Little Richard is a man of the faith so have some respect!! God is why we have all been blessed to live our life's.

Get well soon Little Richard. I've heard hip replacements are easier than knee replacements so you will be back dancing before long. I had a knee replacement in May and I'm still having problems but get better every day.

I love you baby. I'm awaiting your next performance.

I worked at a hotel in Nashville (can't reveal which one) where Mr. Penniman AKA Little Richard stays frequently. The way you see him on tv is really how he is in general. He likes to address everyone like "Oooh ok, thank you baby!" it's tickling. Prayers go out for a successful recovery

To: Littlerichardwearewithyou. I know how I got here.... My dad stuck his Dick into my Mom......66 years ago. Miracle, 9 months later I popped out. There is no g-d-damngod... That's a figment of your imagination, pounded into you from birth!!! Give it up, open up you mind, and set yourself FREE!!! Get a good doctor who does his job well..... no imaginary 'sky daddy' necessary!
