While the Glastonbury Festival's organisers Michael and Emily Eavis are doubtless patting themselves on the back following the announcement of U2's Friday night headlining set, the promoters of Spain's increasingly popular festival, Primavera Sound, have confirmed the first batch of artists who will be joining headliners the Pixies and reformed indie darlings Pavement.Added to the bill are Wilco (pictured), widely regarded as one of the most important bands to have emerged from America in the last decade, and the idiosyncratic and ongoing saga that is the Fall.
Also bolstering the line-up are Panda Bear, former Mazzy Star vocalist Hope Sandoval and reformed indie-pop poppets Bis. On the new music front, two of Britain's brightest talents, the XX and Wild Beasts, have also been added to the bill.
The San Miguel Primavera Sound festival takes place in Barcelona from May 27 to 29.
The full festival tickets for the San Miguel Primavera Sound 2010 are already on sale at the price of 95 € (+ booking fee) until Nov. 30. From Dec. 1 the tickets will cost 99 € (+booking fee).
The tickets are on sale on the Ticketmaster network, Seetickets UK, and through Paypal on the festival webpage.
