Indie-folk troubadours and Spinner favourites Mumford and Sons have announced details of a one-off gig to be played at London's Trafalgar Square on Dec. 2. They are set to headline the St Martin In The Fields and in a move that can only be regarded as nothing short of bravado, they will also be the only band on the bill.Tickets, priced £15, are only available via their official website but you'd better be quick as there are only 150 up for grabs.
As previously announced, the band are also set to headline the HMV Forum in London for a special New Year's Eve gig. Support comes in the shape of Manchester hopefuls Eveything Everything and Beans on Toast.
The gigs come at the end of what has been a busy year for the band. In addition to releasing their debut album, 'Sigh No More', last month, Mumford and Sons have also launched their own book club with the express intention of increasing reading and discussion among their fans. The album's lead single, 'Little Lion Man' was named "Hottest Record in the World" by Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe.
The band are also set to tour India during December.
