"I farted," Passion Pit keyboardist Ayad Al Adhamy says midway through an interview with Spinner. This is ironic, primarily because it's been seven months since Passion Pit released their full-length debut, 'Manners.' The album was born from frontman Michael Angelakos homemade 2008 'Chunk of Change' EP, a valiant poor man's Valentine's Day gift to his former girlfriend that caught blog wind thanks to the hyper-catchy single 'Sleepyhead.'There is no denying the Boston-based electro-pop band is on fire. Passion Pit have just completed their second sold-out US tour, which has been coupled with back-to-back trips to the UK and Europe this year alone. That's not too shabby considering Passion Pit has only been playing together for a year and half.
"Nate interviewed us before he played drums for us," synth master Al Adhamy says of the band's origins. Drummer Nate Donmoyer, then primarily a DJ, was billed on Passion Pit's third outing as a band. "It was for a blog to promote the night so people would know about it," Donmoyer adds of the interview.
In recent months, the band, who recently upgraded to a tour bus, has been remix-happy, putting their own twist on everyone from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs to Chairlift to Phoenix to themselves. Donmoyer, under his DJ moniker Shuttle, also remixed Phoenix's 'Love Like a Sunset.'
"There's this awesome sound system in the front lounge with a sub under the couch," Donmoyer says of the bus. "I like to get woken up by blasting techno." Thankfully the rest of the band doesn't mind. "We respect each others so much, we don't fight about playing music too loud on the bus," multi-instrumentalist Jeff Apruzzese says of the wakeup call.
When it does come to manners, there are some Passion Pit think you should be mindful of. Al Adhamy is a fan of the good ol' fashioned "Thank You. "
"If a door is being held open for you, you must say 'thank you' to the person who is opening the door. When I do that and someone doesn't say thank you, I get so upset," he says.
"Lean up your dishes and in a unisex bathroom, leave the lid down," Donmoyer says before admitting, "I get in trouble for that a lot."
"I'm really bad at that." Apruzzese offers in support.
You can count on a remix from the band here and there, but don't expect new music anytime soon. "We're touring until we can be happy with how we are playing live," Donmoyer says. "Then we'll go back in the studio, but I think we still have another year and a half of touring."

Charley, you clearly do not understand the definition of the word "irony".
