Sade Soldiers Back After a Decade

Sade will release her first album in a decade, titled 'Soldier of Love', on Feb. 8, 2010. The follow-up to 2000's 'Lovers Rock' was recorded in England and produced by her band -- which counts keyboardist Andrew Hale, guitarist/sax player Stuart Matthewman and bassist Paul S. Denman -- with longtime collaborator Mike Pela. While other details are still scarce, we do get a glance at the album art. Enjoy below.

Oh please, do not even try to compare Whitney Houston to Sade'. Whitney is just a typical strung out drug user who spends her life in and out of rehabs like her husband does with his jail stints. Terrible...just terrible role models, running through airports trying to escape security who discover drugs in her bag, doing interviews coked up and high and just overall making an ass of herself. Whitney is trash...Sade' is class!

I just happened to read the short article, and some of the comments. I happen to think that Sade, in some circles is a unappreciated talent. No..she never could hit the notes that Mariah USED to be able to hit, but she also didn't marry the president of the record company and get thousands of dollars in plastic surgery to look like a totally different person. No...she never could hit the notes that Whitney USED to be able to hit, but she also didn't marry a walking trainwreck and end up on drugs. She's not on the cover of US, The Enquirer, or any of the other rags that keep some of the under talented washed out so called singers in the popular eye (see Britney Spears), and see doesn't have to resort to scantilly clad dancers and lip syncing in her concerts to sell out a show, she is one of few artists who can give you a two hour show of just HER music (that's not counting some of the Old School greats). For those know and appreciate quality music, and know it's not about hitting 15 octaves that make for an outstanding artist, and Sade certainly qualifies as such, and her voice and style have never had to change. What artist can endure a decade out of the limelight, and return to such anticipation, most are lucky to go one year since there's always a flavor of the month rising as we speak. So...there's going be some that don't care for her music, but many more that do, but the sold out concerts, and multi platinum CD's are the proof that's in the pudding. In closing, though it is that person's opinion, what in the Blue Hell have you been smoking, "Therealhowards", your statement was about as ludicrous as having White Carpet in an Auto Garage. It's one thing to not like the music, but another to come up with UFO Theories that make no sense or sensibility.

I can't wait. I hope she tours. I saw the Lover's Rock tour in New York and was blown away. She is amazing live and she's been away too long. Come back, we love you Sade!

I mispelled Sade's last name. Change "Abu" to "Adu"

Helen Folasade Abu is one of the true artists that came out of the dismal 80's musical scene. In fact, she and Madonna (may I forgive myself for including Madge in with Sade!!) along with Anita Baker were the three new artists from the 80's that had any long-term traction with audiences around the world in the world of R&B and Pop. Her first two singles, "Hang On To Your Love" and more notably, "Smooth Operator" set the tone and pace for other similarly talented chanteuses that came after her.
