Pomp rockers Muse are now considered to be a front runner for one of the remaining two headline slots at the 2010 Glastonbury Festival. Now that Irish stadium legends U2 have been confirmed as the first headliner of the 40th Anniversary event, speculation is mounting as who will join them at the top of the bill. Muse have long been mentioned in connection with a headlining appearance and a peek at their schedule reveals a rather telling gap between Glastonbury's Jun. 23 to 27 dates. There has been no confirmation from either the Muse camp or festival organisers, however.
The band's bass player Chris Wolstenholme also recently told NME.com that the band expected to be playing festivals in 2010, alongside some previously announced UK stadium dates.
"I think we'll be busy all summer, it will be a combination of stadiums and some headline festival slots," he said. "It's good to vary it up a bit."
