Chat show host and BBC Radio 2 presenter Jonathan Ross has fuelled speculation over next year's Glastonbury line-up by claiming that Devon's neo-prog trio Muse are "probably" going to headline one of the nights on the Pyramid Stage. Spinner reported last week that Muse were under consideration for the top slot. The renowned Twitter fan tweeted that the band's singer-guitarist Matt Bellamy has revealed to him they were looking good for the prestigious billing. Muse were guests of 'Friday Night with Jonathan Ross' and performed 'Uprising' and 'Undisclosed Desires'.
Ross wrote: "Didn't chat to them on the show, but Matt [Bellamy] told me they are probably doing it."
Muse are no strangers to headlining Glastonbury having closed the festival in 2004.
In related Glastonbury news, David Bowie has denied that he is to appear at the festival for the third time. Writing on his website, Bowie said: "Sadly, there is absolutely no substance to this story."
David Bowie had previously played in 1971 and famously closed the festival in 2000.
Irish stadium behemoths U2 are the only headliners confirmed to date though rumours persist of rock 'n 'roll veterans the Rolling Stones also joining the bill.
