Liam Gallagher May Keep Oasis Band Name
Although Former Oasis vocalist Liam Gallagher has decided to continue making music despite the band's split in September, he and his remaining bandmates -- guitarist/bassist Andy Bell, guitarist Gem Archer and drummer Chris Sharrock -- might not be changing the band name. "We're not using it [the Oasis name] at the moment," Gallagher told London's Evening Standard. "But if we don't come up with something else by the time we're ready to release the album it'll be Oasis. I'm not going to call myself something ridiculous just for the sake of it."
Gallagher said that the band was in the middle of working on the new album and have already booked studio time to record after Christmas. Aside from the new album details, he said he hopes to start playing live in the next few months.
As fans wait for the band to hit the stage again, Gallagher revealed they wouldn't play anything his brother Noel wrote at the shows. He also said that he wasn't even sure if he'd ever talk to his older brother again.
"I'm sure he thinks 'I'll do my solo career and if it doesn't f---ing pan out the way it's expected I'll give our kid [Liam] a ring because he'll be desperate and he'll do anything for Oasis,' Liam said. "Well, I'll say this right now: he's got another f---ing thing coming. If he thinks he can ring me up at any given stage in his f---ing lifetime, I'll be busy. I'll always be busy when he rings me up."
