Arcade Fire is hard at work on the follow-up to 2007's 'Neon Bible' with that album's producer Markus Dravs, according to BBC 6Music. Marcus Mumford -- who worked with Dravs on Mumford and Sons' debut disc 'Sigh No More' -- gave a third party update on the Canadian indie collective's status in a new radio interview. "I don't know if I'm allowed to say this but yeah, [Markus is] working on the next Arcade Fire record at the moment," Mumford divulged, suggesting that the new disc should be released in 2010. "I'm sure that's public knowledge, because he's been there for about six months. I keep asking Markus how it's going and he's like, 'Yeah, it's okay', and I'm like, 'What are the songs like?' And he goes, 'Better.'"
In case you were wondering about Mumford's loyalty to Arcade Fire, he's clearly a huge fan. "Seeing them live was probably the best gig I've ever been to," he explained.
He also cited the group's acclaimed debut 'Funeral' as his favorite album of the decade. "It changed my life," he said. "I started listening to it when I was living in China. I always listened to it in Hong Kong non-stop on the tubes and I'd never heard anything like it before. It changed my idea of songwriting and sound, and the idea of lots of people making music together in one recording, but it making sense."
