Johnny Marr Writes First Film Score

Following in the footsteps of Led Zeppelin legend Jimmy Page, Radiohead's Johnny Greenwood and singer Nick Cave, it's been announced that one-time Smiths guitar slinger and current Cribs member Johnny Marr is to write his debut film score.He will provide the original score for 'The Big Bang', a detective thriller starring Antonio Banderas, Delroy Lindo and Sam Elliott.
Speaking to Movie Score Magazine, Reece Pearson - the film's producer - said: "This will be Johnny's first film score and he was just ranked the number one greatest guitarist of all time by Virgin Media."
'The Big Bang' is set to be directed by Tony Krantz and Antonio Banderas will play a detective who is searching for a former stripper who no one has ever seen. Which does beg the question of how does he know she's a stripper if no one's been around to corroborate that? The plot has indeed thickened...
The film is expected to hit the big screen sometime in 2010.
