The band just wrapped up an 18-month tour, so they're in what he called "detox mode," and he admits they haven't had time to take in all their success yet. While they haven't adapted to the changes, they have noticed one difference in the audience. "This record is the first record to kind of put us I guess in pop culture. There are fans there that are disappointed we're no longer their favorite little secret, but for every fan that plugs their ears during 'Use Somebody' or 'Sex On Fire' there are 55 grandmothers up there shaking it for us, so it's a pretty good tradeoff," he said.
"You always hear it's an honor just to be nominated, people say that, it really is a good feeling considering how many people you're up against or could be up against," Followill said. Nathan is already a big winner, as he announced to the room he got married -- sorry, grandmas -- two weeks ago to big applause. So how he is celebrating? "I've already put on the extra weight from getting married," he said. "I'm gonna ride it on through to Thanksgiving and Christmas and just blame it all on one of those holidays."
