Details have emerged of a very special and intimate charity gig by the global colossus that is Coldplay. And what's more, the location has been named as singer Chris Martin's hometown of Exeter.Scheduled to take place on Dec. 19 at Exeter Castle, Coldplay will headline a Big Noise Session in aid of mental health charity Mencap for just 500 people. They will be joined by special guests Lily Allen and La Roux.
"I don't think there could be a better way to end the decade -- La Roux, Lily Allen, Jo Whiley -- what more can you ask for?" Chris Martin said. "We're proud to support Mencap and, for me, it's exciting to play my hometown. We haven't played there since 2000. It's going to be really, really special."
Tickets for show - which will take place in a marquee set to be transformed into a Winter Wonderland - will be released in three stages.
The first batch will be available to paying subscribers of the Little Noise Sessions website, the second will go on sale at HMV Exeter on Dec. 10 while the remaining tickets will go on general sale via HMV's official website. All tickets are priced at £50 with all the proceeds going to Mencap.
