Weezer's Rivers Cuomo Hurt in Bus Crash

Weezer lead singer Rivers Cuomo was hurt in a bus crash around 7:30 am Sunday morning while traveling to Boston from Toronto for a concert Monday at Boston University's Agganis Arena.

Along with another passenger, Cuomo, 40, was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, New York after complaining of bruising to the ribs.

Cuomo's wife, daughter and another passenger were also on board the tour bus, but were not injured.

The back of the bus skidded on ice, according to CNN, which interviewed the bus driver. The bus then "went into the median and hit some reflective posts before crossing back over the highway, going over the guardrail and landing in a ditch."

It had snowed about two inches in the area the night before, and on Sunday morning the roads were wet, according to Sgt. Brian Dollard of the New York State Police. Officials do not believe drugs or alcohol played a part in the accident.

Weezer are currently on tour for their latest album, 'Raditude,' with several more U.S. dates lined up in December in January.

Yeah.....it was a public transportation bus. He and some illegal aliens were sharing a 40 of cheap malt liquor right before the crash. Good thing though because he was about to sell his wife and daughter for $20 worth of crack.

I hope Rivers will be okay :( and to the commenter's on why wasn't he driving. Most musicians do not drive to their own gigs. And being a person who believes in the environment I would not fault him if he did use a public bus though common sense would think it was probably a tour bus. Accidents happen and im just glad that hopefully he will be okay. Too many good musicians have lost their lives to such tragedies.

Secondly, you may not appreciate the people that make your life good but bands have a lot of fans giving them the kind of life they have and it's good to know some of them actually give a crap enough to be touring. It's like a giant "thank you" to the people who pay your bills.

If the only opinion you had was a negative one, you should have kept it to yourself. How about supporting a man that was injured simply for the fact he could use all the healing energy he can get. I swear, some people need to go back and watch Bambi again. "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." Sounds good to me.
