Weezer Cancel December Dates Due to Rivers Cuomo's Crash Injuries

Weezer have canceled the remaining dates of its December 'Raditude' tour following the crash of frontman Rivers Cuomo's tour bus, which occurred early Sunday morning on the New York State Thruway. Cuomo is still hospitalized, according to a post by the band's webmaster/fifth member Karl Koch, after he "cracked three ribs and sustained some mostly minor but very painful internal damage, as well as hurting his lower leg somehow.""We are sorry to say that the rest of the tour has been cancelled," Koch wrote in the descriptive post, which also includes some frightening photographs of Cuomo's bus. "When we can reschedule the dates we will, of course. I have no ticket or refund or whatever info at this time, but stay tuned to this site and the ticketing websites for more info. For now it's a waiting game for all of us."
Cuomo's assistant, Sarah Kim, was discharged from St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, NY Sunday with injuries that will take three to four weeks to heal. Meanwhile, Rivers was transported to a larger area hospital where he remains under observation. "He is resting about as comfortably as could be expected now, and we were relieved to hear that surgery is unlikely," the post added. "Hopefully tomorrow the docs will have more info. You don't fool around with internal injury."
Somewhat miraculously, Cuomo's wife, Kyoko Ito, and his young daughter Mia escaped injury when the back end of the bus slid on ice, hitting the median and crossing back over the highway, going over the guardrail and landing in a ditch, while he was en route from Toronto to a show originally planned for tonight at Boston University.
