Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland has just released a solo Christmas single. The singer's rendition of 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' -- covered in recent years by Coldplay, Bright Eyes and Bob Dylan -- can be heard on AOL Radio's Rock Holiday station and is now available through iTunes.Weiland first performed the song on 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno' back in 2006. The song was first made famous by Judy Garland in the 1944 musical 'Meet Me in St. Louis,' and has also been covered by Tori Amos, the Pretenders, Sarah McLachlan and Aimee Man.
In related news, Stone Temple Pilots recently postponed its December and January tour dates until 2010 so they can complete work on their highly-anticipated comeback album. The record is being helmed by famed producer Don Was, who has worked with the Rolling Stones and Iggy Pop among others.
