Morrissey has been forced to cancel yet another gig after what is increasingly become one of the most ill-fated tours of his career. According to a report on Contactmusic, Californian concert promoters claimed the former Smiths frontman had "blown out his voice" after leaving the stage after less than an hour at his gig in Las Vegas last Friday (Dec. 4). The following night's gig in Indio, Calif. was then binned. However, rumours are circulating that Morrissey had been offended by drunken audience members who had been fighting amongst themselves and vomiting in the venue.
Concert organisers of the Indio gig insisted Morrissey had lost his voice. In an e-mail to disappointed ticketholders they wrote: "Fantasy Springs Resort Casino management has been informed that Morrissey has 'blown out his voice' and will be unable to perform tonight, Dec. 5 2009."
Morrissey's current tour has been plagued with cancellations and illness. He collapsed onstage with breathing difficulties during the opener number in Swindon in October and he angrily left the stage in Liverpool last month after being struck on the head by a plastic beaker.
