'N Sync's 'No Strings Attached' Is Top Album of the 2000s

N Sync No Strings AttachedThe top album of the decade has been announced by Billboard magazine, and it turns out the title belongs to 'N Sync for their fourth release, 'No Strings Attached.'

For all the 'Best Albums of the Decade' lists popping up on the web the past few weeks, it's important to remember that critical darlings are often a far cry from mainstream commercial hits. Admitting this may soften the blow upon learning that a curly haired Justin Timberlake and his boy band brethren produced the best selling album of the past 10 years.

While the nation's current tween population pines for pasty vampires and skinny-jeaned family bands, the days when 'N Sync reigned supreme seem like a distant memory. But back in March of 2000, the pop sensations shattered records by selling 2.4 million copies of their album in a single week, a number that would be unheard of today.

Carried by three US Top 5 singles ('Bye Bye Bye,' 'It's Gonna Be Me' and 'This I Promise You,' remember those?), the album was a bona fide phenomenon, topping the Billboard 200 chart for eighth straight weeks. In 2001, it was certified 11-times platinum by the RIAA. Whether you love them or hate them, there's no denying that 'No Strings Attached' truly dominated the decade.

The number one seller of the decade was One by the Beatles. The award that went to 'N SUCK should rightfully go to the Fab Four!

Actually, just 'cause you don't like them doesn't make them lame.

No, if there is one comment I agree with it's the guy who said that internet downloads killtoday's abums.

If that album came out in 2000, it is from the last decade, you start counting at one not zero. Its not art its not music, it is musical (sic) merchandise...

Personally, I would like to see music return with melody and without the banga-banga-banga noise.
Songs used to rhyme and have rhythm, but not anymore. Now it's bounce around, make as much noise as possible.

I bet those who bought those copies back then are now saying ""man, what was i thinking?". My favorite Top albums of this decade were "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" by Coldplay(2002), "Kid A" by Radiohead(2000),& "Play" by Moby(1999).

I UNERSTAND 2.5 million in 1 week.Read this article in latest issue of ROLLING STONE MAG .But we need to do a survey on how many CD'S,IPOD,CD'S ON BANDS AND SINGERS have been sold over the last decade.ZEPPLIN,AC/DC,BEATLES,DYLAN...ect.WE can remember most of their songs & can sing each word.Idon't see N'suck on the new GUITAR HERO,if you even would buy this shit.No it's the beatles, van halen..ect.Let's see if the family can sing or play N'SUCK.O I FORGOT THEY DIDN'T SHOW THEIR BAND,JUST LIKE THE VERY FEW YOU SEE TODAY.Is,all about me thesinger not the bands. We need to get the big bands back!!!

i think this is an example of corperate music brainwashing the young people with good looking young men and just constantly putting that crappy music in there faces until they start to think thats good music
